The INVG Scarab is a pocket-sized acupressure tool designed to fit naturally in your hand. Its ergonomic wooden body allows you to wrap your fingers around it comfortably, giving you full control whether you’re at home, at work, or on the go. Each Scarab comes in its own canvas storage bag.
Understanding the Two Sides of the Scarab
Brass-Tipped “Pincers”
The top of the Scarab features two curved ends—designed to look like the pincers of a scarab beetle—with solid brass tips at each point.
Use one or both tips to target tension and stimulate acupressure points.
These can be used on areas such as:
- The jaw (especially the masseter and the angle of the mandible)
- In front of the ear
- Along the temporomandibular joint
- The sides and back of the neck
- The hands, forearms, or anywhere you feel muscular tightness
- Between the ribs (light pressure only) to ease intercostal tension
Because the brass tips are strong and precise, you can apply either gentle or firmer pressure depending on what feels comfortable for you.
The Brass “Cluster” Side
The opposite side has 10 rounded brass balls.
These can be used in gentle scraping or circular motions along the acupressure channels of the body.
You can use this side to:
- Release muscle tension
- Warm up larger areas before using the pincers
- Explore Japanese-style techniques inspired by Toyohari, where light stimulation of channels is used for overall balance
There is no single “correct” method—experiment and see what feels best for you.
Suggested Starting Points
If you’re new to acupressure, here are two simple areas to begin with:
Temporalis Muscle (above the ear)
A common area for jaw tension, teeth clenching, and general tightness.
Use the pincers or the brass tips in small circular motions or gentle presses.
Jawline and Masseter
Work along the corner of your jaw, especially if you grind your teeth or hold tension here.
Bladder 2 (inner eyebrow corner)
If you experience tension around the eyes or forehead, press gently on the dip at the inner corner of the eyebrows.
Always work within your comfort level.
How to Hold the Scarab
- Wrap your fingers around the wooden body
- Use your thumb or index finger to guide the pressure
- Keep your wrist relaxed
- Let the weight of the brass tips do most of the work—no need to force anything
Cleaning & Care
To keep your Scarab in its best condition:
- Clean the brass ends with an alcohol wipe or mild disinfectant between uses
- Avoid soaking the wooden body
- Store it in the canvas bag provided
- Do not leave it in damp environments
