INVG Scarab — Walnut & Brass Acupressure Tool

Use the twin tips for focused pressure around the jaw and base of the skull. Turn it over and use the rounded cluster across the neck, shoulders and larger areas.

✱ A grounding ritual for the body. Move slowly across the neck, shoulders, and back as part of your daily self-massage.

✱ Rooted in Chinese medicine. Each polished brass sphere meets the acupressure points mapped in the tradition.

✱ A moment of stillness. Between meetings or winding down at night, take a few slow, grounding minutes for yourself.

✱ Made by hand. Walnut and brass combine for a warm, grounded weight in the hand.

✱ Built to last. Crafted from walnut wood and polished brass for everyday use.

Brass or stainless steel?

Brass
Best suited to clean, dry body use. Brass naturally develops a patina and can leave temporary dark residue after contact with skin oils or moisture.

304 stainless steel
Easy to clean and better suited to facial use or routines involving oils, balms or serums.

INVG Scarab Tool

The INVG Scarab, Walnut and Brass Acupressure Tool

A hand-finished acupressure tool, sourced with care and developed further by Jude, made from turned walnut and polished brass. Compact and weighted, refined through hands-on practice to sit comfortably in the hand and slip into your daily ritual.

Origin: Proudly made in China, home to centuries of craftsmanship and Chinese medicine tradition.

Ten solid brass spheres on the underside for focused pressure, plus two larger brass ends for broader areas. Because of this hands-on finishing, small seams where the brass meets the wood are part of its character.

Prefer a finish that stays smooth and clean against the skin? The Stainless Steel Scarab offers the same design in 304 steel. View the Stainless Steel Scarab

  • Create moments of stillness and intentional self-care

What people say

"I've tried many tools to relieve neck tension and this tool is unique. It's cool at first but as you're using it it warms up and warms your skin leaving a sensation like you've had a massage. Love this little tool!"
Angie H., verified buyer

"The scarab is a beautifully constructed tool that can be used in so many ways. The design is genius. I have been using it every day for myself and my husband. I love that I can hold pressure without killing my fingers."
Tomoko, verified buyer

"I use it mainly for the back of my neck and jaw area due to my bad habit of clenching my teeth when I sleep. When I use the Scarab, the muscles in my jaw and back of my neck loosen up."

Safety & Usage Guidance

How to Use Safely

The INVG Scarab is designed for acupressure — applying focused, firm-but-gentle pressure to specific points on the face, scalp, hands, and body. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Start with light pressure and gradually increase to a comfortable level
  • Avoid pressing directly on the eyes, throat, or any open wounds
  • Do not use on inflamed, broken, or sunburned skin
  • If you feel sharp pain at any point, ease off — acupressure should feel like a deep, satisfying pressure, not pain

Brass is a natural metal that reacts with skin oils and moisture. During use, you may notice a dark residue on the skin — this is normal oxidisation and is not harmful. Simply wipe the tool before each use and cleanse your skin afterwards. For best results, avoid using on oily skin without wiping first.

If you have a medical condition or are pregnant, consult a healthcare practitioner before use.

Research

(Educational information, not medical advice.)

Acupressure is a traditional practice from Chinese medicine — gentle, focused pressure applied to points mapped over centuries. Modern researchers continue to study it, but findings from clinical studies cannot simply be transferred to a home self-care tool, so we do not use research to promise results.

What we offer instead is a well-made tool, clear guidance and a tradition explained honestly. If you are new to acupressure, start gently and listen to your body. For medical concerns, always speak with a qualified professional.

Care Guide

After each use
Wipe the brass ends with a soft, dry cloth before and after use. If you've used oil or balm, gently buff it away so residue doesn't build up.

Important — brass and skin contact
Brass is a living metal that naturally reacts with skin oils, sweat, and moisture. You may notice a dark mark on the skin during or after use — this is normal oxidisation and is completely harmless. Wipe the tool before each session and cleanse skin afterwards. For best results, avoid using on heavily oiled skin without wiping first. If you have a known sensitivity to copper or brass, patch test on a small area before full use.

Occasional clean
If needed, lightly dampen a cloth with warm water and a drop of mild soap. Wipe the brass only, then dry immediately. Do not soak the tool or allow water to touch the walnut handle.

For tarnish on the brass
A small amount of toothpaste on a cloth can be used to gently polish the brass. Wipe clean and dry well.

Storage
Store in a dry place, ideally in its pouch, away from humidity. Do not wash or soak the walnut handle. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

The patina that develops on brass over time is a natural characteristic of the material — it shows your Scarab is being well used.

The walnut Scarab tool is fantastic for face and body

The walnut Scarab tool is fantastic for face and body. The brass does leave a dark gray mark on the area worked on so be mindful- and possibly choose stainless steel version. Otherwise this is amazing.

Thank you for your kind words about the Walnut Scarab. We appreciate your feedback on the brass version and will consider your suggestion. Glad you’re enjoying the tool!

Leaves black marks all over my face

I like the tool, but hate that it leaves black marks all over my face. There is something in the metal that causes an oxidative process and leaves black marks all over my face. I can not use it and go anywhere with out washing my face as the black marks are quite dark.

Thank you for sharing your experience. If you are noticing dark marks from the Scarab, this is a normal reaction with brass. We recommend trying our Stainless Steel Scarab, as it may be a better option for you. Please reach out to our support team, and we will be happy to help you find the best solution.

Small Tool, Wonderful Relief

I love this tool! As a former massage therapist, I’m always looking for effective ways to relieve tension on my own. I use it in the morning and before bed to massage my neck and the base of my skull, and I also reach for it during migraines to work along my jaw, head, and other acupressure points. It fits comfortably in my hand and works well for both steady pressure and small movements, helping me reach areas that are difficult to target with my fingers. It’s also compact enough to slip easily into my backpack. Simple, beautifully made, and very handy!

We’re so happy to hear how much you love the INVG Scarab! It’s amazing to know it’s been such a great addition to your self-care routine. Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience with us!

Did not know it’s coming from china

Did not know it’s coming from china. I was disappointed, the advertisement was good. The product is okay, I thought the wood would be a bit better quality.

Dear Clara,

Thank you for your honest feedback, I really appreciate it.

I wanted to clarify a couple of things, both for you and for anyone else reading this. The origin from China is stated on the product page under 'Materials,' as each Scarab is handcrafted there. We hold stock in the UK, so UK orders ship quickly from within the UK, but for international orders, including yours, we ship directly from our supplier in China. This avoids sending items to the UK first and back out again, which would only add cost and delivery time. That's also why we state a delivery window of 8 - 11 working days for these orders. I understand these details can be easy to miss, and I'll look at making them clearer.

I'm also sorry to hear the wood quality didn't quite meet your expectations. Each piece is handcrafted, so small variations in the grain can occur, but I still want to make sure you're happy. Please feel free to reach out to me directly and we'll find a good solution.

Thank you again for helping us improve.

Warm wishes,

Jude / INVG Wellness

Es sencillamente genial, encuentra puntos gatillos y no hace falta ejercer tanta fuerza.

Me alegra mucho que te esté funcionando tan bien. Es una forma muy eficaz de trabajar puntos sin necesidad de aplicar tanta presión.
